Kadance Content Rules

Kadance organises dance content within closed groups, but closed does not mean rule-free. Share only what you have the right to share and what other people reasonably expect to find in that classroom.

1. Before contributing

You must have accepted these rules and the Terms of Use. By contributing a video or clip, you confirm that you reviewed it and may share it with authorised people in the classroom. Its title, tags and description must also follow these rules.

2. Rights, image and privacy

• Have permission from the recording owner and sufficient consent or other basis for every identifiable person.
• Do not record or share in places where recording or sharing has been prohibited.
• Do not publish unnecessary personal data, documents, addresses, phone numbers, private conversations or sensitive information.
• Respect rights in music, choreography, performances, trade marks, costumes, photographs and any third-party material.
• During the first beta, do not contribute any content depicting minors, even where you have parental or image-use permission.

3. Prohibited content and conduct

• Sexual exploitation or abuse, nudity, pornography, sexual solicitation or any content that puts a person at risk.
• Real graphic violence, threats, glorification of harm, dangerous instructions or physical humiliation.
• Harassment, intimidation, hate, discrimination, targeted ridicule or non-consensual sharing intended to harm someone.
• Impersonation, fraud, spam, malware, deceptive links or attempts to bypass permissions and controls.
• Illegal content or content that infringes intellectual property, image, privacy, confidentiality or an applicable order.
• Using classroom videos or data for advertising, surveillance, biometric recognition, model training or unrelated purposes without clear authorisation.

A dance context does not automatically make a recording appropriate. If you are unsure about consent, age, clothing, music rights or privacy expectations, do not contribute it.

4. How to report

In the app, open a user, video or clip menu and select ‘Report to Kadance’. Choose a reason and add only necessary details. The report is private: it is not sent to the reported person, teacher or other classroom members. You may also write to [email protected]; for privacy or rights requests use [email protected].

If there is immediate danger, contact emergency services or the relevant authority first. Do not use a Kadance report as a substitute for urgent help.

5. Review and action

Kadance will prioritise risks to people, sexual content, violence, harassment, privacy and rights. It may preserve minimum evidence, limit access, unpublish or remove content, suspend features or accounts and, where legally required, cooperate with authorities. Action depends on severity, context, repetition and risk; a report does not automatically establish a breach.

Do not submit false, abusive or coordinated reports intended to harm another person. We may limit the reporting system where it is abused, without preventing legitimate safety or privacy communications.

6. Review of a decision

If your content is removed or your account is restricted, you may request review at [email protected], identifying your account and the decision without forwarding sensitive videos by email. We will communicate the outcome where possible and where doing so does not harm safety or another person's rights.

These documents will be reviewed before the external beta opens. Material changes will receive a new version.
